Here is my next Christmas card to share. This one is pretty simple again but I really like the holly leaves sticking off the edge of the card. I also think that the white border along the bottom breaks up the patterned paper nicely. Thank you for visiting!!
I have finally started my Christmas cards! I took Friday off from work to get my daughter's Christmas pictures taken as well as to have some "me" time as it was my birthday. So, I spent the afternoon at Archiver's making Christmas cards. I only came home with 10 cards completed but hopefully I can find some time every weekend to do that many again and I should have them all done on time!
This is not a new card for me. I made it when I was designing for Simply Sentiments magazine for a Christmas issue. But when I found the Christmas card drive for Noah Biorkman I pulled this one out to send to him. Not sure of all the supplies but I know I used Making Memories foam stamps and buttons. Here is a card I made for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. It didn't turn out quite a nice as I thought it would but I still think it looks okay. I used an acetate card base which I thought looked cool with the colors. I pulled in the chocolate color with the ribbon. The focal point is from a Stampin' Up set and embellished with a rhinestone in the middle. The picture isn't very clear tonight, hopefully you can still get an idea of what it looks like. Here is my last card based on the sketch I made for World Cardmaking Day. For this one I used an image sent to me by my dear friend Michelle. She is a TAC demonstrator so she always has the greatest stamp sets! I think this set is very cute and need to add it to my collection soon. I used a tag made from a Nestabilities die with the bow on this card for the sentiment. The bow is also horizontal instead of vertical this time. I used some little rhinestones on the strip across the bottom to stay with the "twinkly" theme. I had fun coloring this image and adding a little sparkle with some Stickles on the wings and wand. My second sketch card today is a Halloween card I made with some of the new Making Memories Halloween products. I love these papers and those ghost stickers were just too cute to pass up! On this card I used a Nestabilities die from the Label 1 set instead of a circle and I placed it a bit off the edge for a different look. I used the strip along the bottom for my sentiment and switched out the eyelets for brads. I will have one more card to share this evening, a birthday card, so be sure to check back! Here is my first card to share using today's sketch. This was a fairly simple Christmas card that would be so easy to recreate for everyone on your list. I like cutting the circle out of the base cardstock and having the focal point "behind" the card. It gives you a chance to tie the ribbon around to the inside for a different look. I decided to challenge myself a bit for World Cardmaking Day. I designed a sketch and then made three different cards using the layout. I'm sure everyone has plenty of experience using sketches to make cards for different holidays and events but I wanted to show my perspective. I came up with the sketch by adding a couple of elements I had seen and used lately including the circle focal point, grouping of three small embellishments, and thick ribbon. The bow on my sketch doesn't look quite as realistic as I'd like but that was the best I could do with the software! Please check back throughout the day to see all three of my cards.
